The Benefits of Porridge
Porridge is a very beneficial and essential product in children's nutrition. It is rich in vitamins, trace elements, fiber, carbohydrates, and proteins. Proteins are a valuable building material for the cells of a growing body.
Semolina Porridge. The benefits of semolina porridge are indisputable. Tibetans claim that it is necessary to eat a few spoonfuls of semolina porridge every day. It has a positive effect on the skin, muscles, bones, and the gastrointestinal tract. Semolina contains many vitamins B1, B2, B6, PP, E, as well as iron and potassium. Semolina porridge is beneficial for gastrointestinal diseases, heart attacks, the post-operative period, and diseases that require easily digestible food.
Buckwheat Porridge. Buckwheat porridge is a treasure trove of B vitamins. It is also rich in potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, and manganese. Buckwheat porridge positively affects the work of the heart and gastrointestinal tract, increases hemoglobin (especially when combined with vitamin C), and its protein is easily absorbed by the body.
Rice Porridge. Rice porridge, even more than buckwheat, is rich in B vitamins. Therefore, it positively affects the nervous system and, according to recent research in Japan, increases intelligence. It is beneficial to include rice porridge in the diet of schoolchildren. Moreover, rice (especially brown rice) can be compared to a broom that sweeps toxins out of the body.
Oatmeal. Oatmeal contains beta-glucan dietary fibers. These fibers, when cooked, turn into a slimy mass that positively affects the gastrointestinal tract. Oatmeal is beneficial for the heart – it helps remove cholesterol from the body. Additionally, oatmeal is a powerful antioxidant and a rich source of energy.
Millet Porridge. Millet porridge helps cleanse the body after taking antibiotics and removes toxins from the body. If millet is a frequent guest on the table, it normalizes blood pressure and positively impacts the cardiovascular system. Millet porridge is slowly digested and keeps the body full for a long time.
Barley and Pearl Barley Porridge. Barley and pearl barley porridges are similar. They can be called "beauty porridges." They normalize metabolism, cleanse the body of toxins due to their high fiber content. Barley and pearl barley porridges are low in calories but provide excellent satiety and energy. They are also beneficial for hair growth, strengthening bones and teeth. Pearl barley also contains lysine (which fights viruses) and an important trace element – selenium.
Thus, the benefits of porridge for children are indisputable. Any porridge is an extremely healthy and dietary product. The main advantages of porridges include the fact that after heat treatment, the protein in the grains is easily absorbed by the body. Grains also contain a large amount of carbohydrates, making porridge an excellent source of energy.
