Dragunsky Viktor Yuzefovich (1913–1972), writer, prose author.
Born on November 17 (30th, new style) in New York. Since 1935, he worked as an actor, later becoming the head of the literary-theatrical parody ensemble "Blue Bird" (1948–1958).
From 1940, he published feuilletons and humorous stories, later compiled into the collection Iron Will (1960); he also wrote songs, interludes, clown acts, and sketches for stage and circus.
In 1959, he emerged as the author of cheerful children's stories under the collective title Deniska’s Stories. In 1961, the novella He Fell on the Grass was published. Throughout the 1960s, one book after another appeared: The Girl on the Ball, The Enchanted Letter, A Childhood Friend, The Dog Thief, Twenty Years Under the Bed, The Magical Power of Art, and others.
In the 1970s: The Red Balloon in the Blue Sky, Colorful Stories, Adventure, and more. In 1980, he wrote the book What I Love.
V. Dragunsky died in 1972 in Moscow.
