Report on the Pedagogical Living Room "Vivat to Parents!"

The series of sessions "Pedagogical Living Room": Community Circles of Teachers "Learning Together" was developed within the framework of the project of MCOU Secondary School No. 2 in the city of Makaryev "System of Support for Children with Low Academic Achievement for 2017-2018."

"Community Circles" is a popular restorative program for all participants in the educational process, as it helps to relieve negative emotions, provides an opportunity for everyone to express their opinion and be heard, make decisions that suit everyone, and share responsibility for what is happening.

The first session of the pedagogical living room was held for class tutors on March 29, 2017. The topic for the living room was selected according to the plan of the work of the class tutors' council. One of the questions raised by the council was about new forms of working with parents in the class community. The teachers of the school had the opportunity to try this form of work in practice. Constructive suggestions for improving work with parents at the school were made:

  • Hold thematic consultations with parents during the Unified Consultation Day at the school

  • Praise parents more (focus on positive feedback)

  • Organize a "Grandmother at School" event

  • Involve fathers in the life of the school

  • Learn to LISTEN to parents

  • Engage specialists for talks with parents
