WHAT IS FAMILY VOLUNTEERING
The life of modern parents is very busy and requires significant investments. Sometimes, there is little time left for the closest ones. The solution to this problem may be family volunteering, which offers an opportunity to become part of socially important projects.
The younger generation in Russia is experiencing a crisis in the social situation. Outdated behavior stereotypes and value orientations have been shattered. In the era of rapid globalization and informatization, advertising, and the replacement of values, teenagers must make choices every day, resist the temptations of life, maintain their health, and defend their life position, based on knowledge and personal experience. Volunteer activities are becoming relevant because a huge number of people need help and support. It contributes to the revival of values among the youth, such as citizenship, mercy, justice, humanity, responsiveness, and promotes a healthy lifestyle. The word "volunteer" comes from French and means a person who volunteers. A person who has the habit of caring for others, helping them voluntarily and without any personal gain (self-interest). The reward for this is the gratitude and appreciation of the people who have received significant help. Additionally, volunteers gain useful knowledge, new acquaintances, and communication with people from various walks of life. But that's not all. The main thing is that volunteers receive a sense of their usefulness. Thanks to this, volunteers work for the benefit of their country completely for free. Volunteers are not only altruists; they work to gain experience, special skills, and knowledge, and establish personal contacts. Moreover, a volunteer is a necessary person. Experts claim that volunteerism is the future. Volunteering allows a person to "add" a very significant part to their life without "breaking" it — by fulfilling the sense of personal civic responsibility for what is happening. The volunteer movement is one of the most effective and promising ways to organize work to form a healthy lifestyle and responsible behavior among young people. After all, teenagers find it easier to understand their peers, and they, in turn, trust them with their problems and concerns and are more likely to trust the information received from their peers. In Russia, the volunteer movement began to emerge in the late 1980s, although, if we look into history, it has always existed, for example, in the form of the Sisters of Mercy, the Timur and Pioneers movements, and various societies for the protection of nature and monuments. Due to the growing number of social problems, where volunteers have become indispensable due to the current economic situation, the volunteer movement began to develop. People appeared who were voluntarily ready to dedicate their time and energy for the benefit of society or a specific person.
HELPING TOGETHER: WHAT IS FAMILY VOLUNTEERING
In Russia, this direction is still in its infancy. People who had not previously been involved in volunteering are happy to take part in family social projects. Volunteers form a favorable civil environment and a trusting atmosphere in society, as shared by a correspondent of the special project.
Family is a Team
Proper Family Leisure
Although volunteering is based on a voluntary basis, it can provide a more valuable motivation for each person.
Today, parents want to gain useful information through volunteering. In family leisure development centers, young mothers unite to exchange experiences in dealing with post-birth challenges. Parents come together to fight against, for example, poor safety standards at children's facilities.
